We are excited to announce the addition of University of South Alabama head coach Becky Clark to our coaching staff! Coach Clark has built South Alabama into an NCAA DI national powerhouse, and is looking forward to working with younger athletes as well: “Our sport provides great opportunities for athletes to grow and excel,” Clark said. ”I am excited to be able to work with young athletes to help them develop and compete for those opportunities.”
Southern Spirit Softball is a non-profit, amateur youth sports organization providing elite level training to athletes of all backgrounds and abilities. The organization partners with college coaches and players to train young athletes, with the goal of preparing them for an opportunity to compete on the college level. We believe that every athlete should have the opportunity to fulfill their dreams on and off the field. The organization offers free coaching and training services to area high schools and city leagues. We engage in various fundraising projects in an effort to provide scholarships for athletes with limited resources. The organization is comprised of coaches who have collegiate coaching experience, playing experience and have won conference and national championships. It is the mission of Southern Spirit’s leaders and coaches to create a passion for softball, pass on the knowledge of the game, and prepare young athletes to be respected leaders in the community.
Programs of Southern Spirit Softball:
- Free coaching clinics for area coaches in youth leagues, schools and travel organizations.
- Support for local school and city league teams including coaching, camps, promotions, etc.
- Need based scholarships for deserving athletes to take private lessons, attend camps, and compete on a competitive travel team.
- Travel teams currently competing in 8u, 10u, 12u, 14u and 16u, coached by college coaches and players.
